Our History
In my teens I had a Golden retriever and a
Cocker Spaniel, I showed them at local shows.
My first Dachshund was a pet, bought in 1969.
She was by Lovaine Coxon’s
first CC winner out of a daughter of Ch Limberin Leading light. She had
a litter to Ch D’arisca Satin Statesman, I kept a
bitch from the litter as a pet.
I then bought a bitch, sired by Miss Jean
Cooks Plada of Deugh out of a D’arisca bitch and
was bitten again by the showing bug
To date I have bred 14
UK Champions. 1 South African CH and made up
a bitch whose sire and grandsire was bred by me. Also
several reserve CC winners.
I have always kept my Dachshunds as part of
the family, limiting the number kept to less than 10 at any time, breeding
only when I need another one to show.

I have spent the past 27 years travelling to
shows with my friend and mentor, Margaret
Turner, Marictur, whose companionship I have enjoyed and have many fond
memories of good times on the road.
I have been fortunate in so much as my husband
Rick is always willing to be the ‘kennel man’ to allow me to travel and not
worry about the welfare of the dogs at home.
I started judging in
1984, awarding my first set of CC’s in 1989.

In 2001 I judged abroad,
in Australia and New Zealand.
Always interested to see
what the Dachshund scene is like in other parts of the world,
We have visited
America three times to attend the DCA national show Westminster and the
Knickerbocker Dachshund Club Show
The Netherlands to
attend the Dutch Dachshund club show.
Germany to attend the German Dachshund Club show and
Amsterdam on several occasions to see what the rest of Europe has at the Winners
show.
